My Year of Southern Weddings

My Year of Southern Weddings

MagnoliaPhotography-025

In the south we are blessed with many things, one of those things is beautiful Plantations. Although these plantations are few and far between, simply because time has not been good to these old beauties. Finding one, although almost takes your breath away, imagining the grandeur and the life that was once lived on these beautiful estates. The first bride to walk through the doors
of J. Cody Design however came from a family of one of these beautiful old plantations. Her wedding was the perfect example of a classic southernMagnoliaPhotography-005MagnoliaPhotography-011 wedding, a little white church for the wedding and a grand plantation for the reception. The best of both worlds, what more is a girl to want?

This bride was the beautiful Lauren McKeithan, and that plantation was Oakland Plantation, a private family home place located on the borders of Columbus and Bladen Counties and set on the Cape Fear River. A calm and elegant color scheme of lavender, ivory and green set the scene of serenity and peace for their special day as twobecame one. The colors spoke perfectly to the character of Lauren, quiet, sweet and simple, all while being perfectly elegant. This wedding was my first booking for J. Cody Design. My first sight visit was to the Plantation, driving up was like a scene from a movie. Majestic oak trees and a grand ole house, red in color, graced this beautiful plot of land. In this moment I realized hoMagnoliaPhotography-012w blessed I was to be involved in such an amazing career and all the places that it would take me. Each wedding and event marks a moment in someone’s life, an important moment that you I been chosen to take part in. The weight and responsibility exist, but it is all worth it when you have made dreams come true.

As 2015 has wrapped up and I take a look back at all that has occurred and each bride who has graced the doors of 800 South Madison St.; Each with a different personality and each with different wants and needs. These brides all brought with them a passion for their day and a dream of what they wished for it to become. I am honored that I was chosen to be that designer to help make their day beautiful.  Thank you to everyone
MagnoliaPhotography-027
who supported us in 2015 and those who continue in 2016. We are so excited for all we have to bring to the table and for all the special events we are working on for this New Year.

Thank you to Lauren and Austin for being the first Bride and Groom of J. Cody Design. I would also like to thank Magnolia Photography, your talent is outstanding; flowers and design are very important in a wedding, but without the photographic proof, it woul
d be lost forever. Again, thank you to everyone who has been instrumental in making 2015 a huge success!MagnoliaPhotography-075
